Graffiti and littering

Reported via mobile in the Graffiti eg. On street furniture, spray paint on signage category anonymously at 17:46, Monday 5 August 2024

Sent to Immediate Justice Team 4 minutes later

National Cycle Route 6 should be a safe place for cyclists and pedestrians. Instead this is an absolute hovel. The graffiti has worsened over the last 6 months. The littering has always been a problem. It’s a place that attracts alcoholics and drug addicts/small time dealers. It’s is now regularly used as a public urinal. This is supposedly a safe place for parents to take their children to school, for staff and students to get to university and for staff and patients walking to the QMC (or at least the bus stop). It is anything but that. Care and attention (and good CCTV!) might move this from being a crime hotspot to being an excellent commuter route which is should be!

Updates

  • The walls are covered in graffiti over the top of what was officially put there. The litter is still there but not as abundant as before!
